Google’s Gradient Ventures Leads $3.75 Million Seed Round for Seattle HR Startup Cascade AI

A seed funding round of $3.75 million was successfully closed by HR Tech startup Cascade AI based in Seattle. Gradient Ventures, led the round. Myriad Venture Partners and Success Venture Partners were also in the funding round contributing extra funds.

Initiated in 2022, it is dedicated to augmenting the human resources some organizations offer by answering questions that employees have regarding issues like health insurance; time off; and company policies. This allows for easy scaling of their HR operations for companies with more than 1000 employees who tend to have challenges in scaling HR ops. Cascade’s automation technology intends to help employees to make inquiries that may be sensitive and therefore, embarrassing for them to raise with HR such as questions regarding mental health benefits and family leave among other internal issues.

Ana-Maria Constantin, the co-founder and CEO of Cascade, gave attention to the fact that the startup was more aggressive regarding the acquisition of clients and hiring more workers. While no figures on the number of employees or anticipated growth were given, she pointed out that the company is in the hiring process, especially for suitable individuals with product and engineering skills. Cascade, which functions remotely, is also thinking of having a physical location somewhere in Seattle as the team continues to expand.

At present, the firm does business in various industries, such as healthcare and technology, and energy among others, with most of its clients being mid to large-sized companies. Though Constantin kept the exact number of customers under wraps, she still pointed out that the clientele of Cascade is typically composed of well over a thousand employees.

In the coming years, Cascade plans to go even further than the traditional personnel departments. As Constantin mentioned, some of the first clients are already ready to take a step further and reach the boundaries of the platform’s activities into social partners like onboarding, offboarding, and other processes of the business.

Prior to establishing Cascade, for more than five years, Constantin was an engineer at Microsoft, a background also shared by Co-Founder and CTO Pulak Goyal, who worked for six years in engineering roles at the company.
