A Fragrance Business from Carlow Recognized at an Entrepreneurship Showcase

The Flower Child brand is available in more than 40 retailers across the country. Alexandria Kelly, the founder and owner based in Carlow, showcases her range of candles, fragrance sprays, and wax melts crafted from natural ingredients.

Alexandria recently presented her company to a group of potential investors at the inaugural Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers Showcase 2024 held at the South East Technological University’s (SETU) campus in Carlow. Alongside nine other entrepreneurs from the New Frontiers program, Alexandria demonstrated her innovative business to investors. The event was attended by sponsors META, UNUM, Netwatch, and Carlow Local Enterprise Office, drawing members of the broader business community eager to network, forge connections, and support new startups.

As a participant in the Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers program hosted regionally by SETU at its Carlow and Waterford campuses, Alexandria has leveraged personal storytelling to connect with her audience. Through her approach, she has cultivated a community of like-minded customers seeking natural alternatives to everyday home fragrances, driven by a shared passion for the benefits of nature.

Flower Child presents a collection of more than 30 items spanning five distinctive fragrances, featuring candles, fragrance sprays, and wax melts. Reflecting on her entrepreneurial journey, Alexandria remarked:

“The New Frontiers program has provided me with the chance to realize my dream of establishing my own brand and becoming self-employed. After completing college, the prospect of diving into entrepreneurship was intimidating. Prior to New Frontiers, the Flower Child brand was a passion project I pursued during evenings and weekends.”
