Key Background:
Ebby Halliday Cos., a leading real estate brokerage in North Texas, has announced a leadership change with Betsy Cameron being promoted to president of the company. Carolyn Rosson, who previously served as president and CEO, will transition to the role of chairman and assist with the leadership change. The announcement was made on January 16, 2025.
Cameron, a fourth-generation Dallas native with over 20 years of real estate experience, joined Ebby Halliday Cos. in 2019 as the sales leader for the company’s renowned Little White House office. She later led two other offices within the Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate division and most recently held the position of senior vice president of operations. Cameron brings a wealth of experience as a salesperson, sales leader, manager, and executive to her new role as president.
“I am honored to serve a talented team and lead this storied company into its next phase of growth,” Cameron said in a statement. “The opportunity to contribute to the continued success of Ebby Halliday Cos. is both humbling and exciting.”
Rosson, who has been with the company for 45 years, decided to retire after decades of service. She began her career at Ebby Halliday Cos. at the age of 21 and has since dedicated herself to the company and the industry. Rosson expressed her gratitude for the company, calling it “my home, my family, and my passion.”
Ebby Halliday Cos. is one of the largest residential real estate brokerages in Texas and the U.S., with nearly 2,000 agents across its affiliated brands, including Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Williams Trew. The company, which had $8.2 billion in home sales in 2023, was acquired by HomeServices of America in 2018, an affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway. Chris Kelly, executive vice president of HomeServices of America, praised both Rosson’s and Cameron’s leadership, expressing confidence in the company’s continued success under Cameron’s direction.
