Amy Green started Mamaya Health to support women who suffer from fertility, miscarriage, postpartum depression, and so much more.
Mamaya Health offers virtual-first counseling to help women who experience pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, or loss access maternal mental health care.
The COVID-19 epidemic has really accelerated online practice. With this, she could now reach isolated women who are in dire need of emotional support during stressful times.
Key Background:
Amy Green is the founder and chief executive officer of Mamaya Health and has taken personal tragedy into a mission to support women battling fertility struggles, miscarriage, postpartum depression. Her journey began with a deeply painful experience when her doctor publicly announced her miscarriage in front of a crowded waiting room, an emotional betrayal that fueled her determination to prevent others from facing such isolation.
A licensed therapist with experience in family support, Green was personally affected by her own pregnancy losses. As she and her husband, Isaac, endured multiple miscarriages, Green recognized a significant gap in mental health services for women who had carried children but experienced loss.
She could not find what she was looking for and went ahead to seek special certification in maternal mental health, which took her to Mamaya Health. The platform provides virtual counseling to women going through difficult pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and loss experiences.
Initially, Green had not envisioned Mamaya Health as an online service, but the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the urgency of accessible virtual care. The transition to a virtual-first model was challenging but allowed Mamaya Health to reach isolated women who needed emotional support. Green was very adaptive and scaled the business with growing demand without sacrificing care quality.
Mamaya Health provides hour-long virtual sessions to its clients, and most of the clients report that their anxiety and depression are reduced within 12 weeks of treatment. This critical period helps women integrate their maternal identity and regain confidence. Green’s personal and professional journey fuels her dedication to ensuring that future generations of women have access to the mental health care they deserve, supporting not just her two daughters, Kinley and Quinn, but all women facing life’s toughest moments.
