First Female Youth Leadership Conference to be hosted by Victoria Police Department

The first Up-and-Coming Female Leadership Conference will be held at the Victoria Community Centre from July 25–27 from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. by the Victoria Police Department, Victoria Police Foundation, Victoria Office of Emergency Management and Victoria Fire Department.

The conference’s motto is “To Develop and Empower Young Women to be Leaders of Tomorrow.” In order to find knowledge that would help young women ages 13 to 18 as they transition into their next stage of life, women leaders from each of the participating organisations worked together.

19 speakers with a range of experiences have been invited to present at the conference by the Up-and-Coming Female Leadership Conference committee. Every day of the three-day conference will be focusing on a separate topic.

25th July: Public Safety Day

26th July: Health Professional Day

27th July: Mind Your Business covering Social Media Management and Entrepreneurship.

The course will address topics like creating a CV, interview etiquette, career exploration, the education required to get a good job, and social media management.

“This interactive, fun and professional conference will help to prepare participants for college and/or the workforce and teach them essential skills needed to thrive in today’s world,” Public Safety Community Affairs Manager Lauren Meaux said.

The cost of the program is $40. To register, visit victoriatx.gov/police.
