The gathering involved professional women around the nation to exchange ideas, learn, and get to know one another. The two-day event was aimed at ensuring that women were successful in their line of work and establish valuable networks.

The Honorable Helen Giddings, a well-known leader in Texas, served as the Summit Chair. She spoke about the importance of helping young women find their place in leadership and sharing the lessons learned from experience.

A highlight of the event was the Rising Star Award, given to Deme Jackson, co-founder of The Lotus Club. The Lotus Club helps Black women who face unemployment, layoffs, or career shifts. The other memorable event was a fireside conversation between Helen Giddings and Kimberly Bizor-Tolbert, the first Black woman City Manager of Dallas. The discussion centered on women helping other women to rise was moderated by NBC-5 anchor Brittney Johnson and Wayne White, CEO of the Communities Foundation of Texas. Tolbert gave a personal account of how the appointment occurred, and she remembered it was on the birthday of her dead grandfather, who inspired her to serve the people.
